The main part missing in the MASIF standard is an interface for Agent to Agent
communication. This is important for sharing tasks, as Agents also are intended
to work in groups and to share information and experience between them. To perform
inter-Agent communication, CORBA should be used and the relevant interfaces
for each group of Agents should be defined for your own, because the development
of a common communication interface is a very complex and not so easy to process
task.
Furthermore it does not cover a basic interface for an Agent, which means that
with this interface implemented you could execute the same Agent in another
System which is written in the same language. This could be done later when
more open source Agent System implementations are available and a good basic
interface is found. The actual MASIF version is intended to achieve basic interoperability
and to be extended in future to more parts of Mobile Agents when they
are more deeply known.
