Description

The TAgents project aims to build an open source mobile agent system. It's main focus is on extendability and flexibility.

Mobile Agents

Software agents in general are helper for the users. They can act on behalf of their owner without the requirement for the user to interact. They are able to acomplish tasks on their own.
Mobile agents have now the unique capability to travel (while executing) from one system to another. They reduce the use of bandwith and interaction of the user. Once sent mobile agents go to the sites and can there interact directly with the local environment, no matter where this system is running.
